◄ Pond
In the center of the garden, this small pond with gold fishes and water
plants (nympheas, iris pseudacorus and pontederia cordata) was
renovated by covering the banks with pressure-impregnated antislip
flooring desks.

| Support ►
This young weeping cedar (Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca Pendula’) is a very
interesting tree but was in serious need of a support. A structure
of impregnated redwood made as a small pergola is used as a
supporting frame while creating interesting scenery in this
part of the garden.

◄ Pergola
In an other part of the garden fruit trees trained in palmette
have been planted between the post of the pergola and climbing
roses will grow along the posts and beams until covering the
arbor entirely.
|
| Walkway and bed borders ►
This path alongside the house was so wet that it was impracticable
in winter. Tiles of planed ribbed slats of impregnated redwood
make walking comfortable and follow the slope of the ground. Half round boarding stakes fixed horizontally or vertically
efficiently hold the soil in the flower and shrubs beds.

Pressure impregnated northern redwood (red pine) is a very interesting
material in garden design. Its esthetic qualities, its durability
(some producers offer a warranty up to 25 years) and its flexibility
of use, to which the only limit is that of the designer's creativity,
let it pretend to an important role in the design of private or
public parks and gardens. |
